The Care & Maintenance Instructions are divided into sections.
We recommend that our customer read all sections if possible.
We recommend to wait 1-2 weeks to let the oil harden completely. After that period you can wash everyday or when needed, but ensure to use the correct mixtures and the right product.
95% of all household stains like water, food and wine can be easily removed either by using our Bio-C Cleaner or with tougher stains, use a medium grade nylon pad with our Oil products or our Satin Oil Gold Mousse (foam) which is ideal for smaller areas. If the stain is still there, use sandpaper to remove the stain and re-oil with Satin Oil. Apply Oil exactly per instructions and dispose of oily rags immediately after use as directed.
If you start experiencing this, it usually means that it’s time to refurbish the floor with an maintenance oil. 95% of all common stains can be removed on a well-maintained surface. A light sanding of the surface might be needed to remove any stains that have been left on the surface to long.
Once a year or whenever needed. Depending on the use of the surface, the intervals can vary quite a bit. High traffic areas like airports add maintenance oil every 3 months. Low traffic areas like private homes might need maintenance every 1-2 years. The rule is simple! Look at the surface, if it looks dry and worn and stains appear very easily, it’s time for the maintenance.
No. If you maintain your floor correctly, you will never have to sand again.
This can be caused by using too much soap and water on the surface. This creates a “film” on the surface which is grey and that will stop you adding any oil to the floor when needed. The oil will lay on top and cause a sticky surface.
